The Story Behind Huthmaker Violins

Huthmaker Violins started at a workbench in our laundry room in 1989. Buddy Huthmaker was the sole owner-employee-luthier. One afternoon, after finding every inch of the livingroom filled with 'celli and basses for repairs, Dixie insisted that a "real" shop be opened.

Amazing place, amazing and passionate people. We have been customers of Huthmaker's violin for 6 years and we always had outstanding service. This family owned business is more than just a violin store. The Huthmaker family helps develop love of music and respect for the string instruments. They are connected to incredible teachers. Thanks to them there is a real and warm community of musicians in the Suwannee area.

I adore the Huthmakers and their shop. They are true professionals and will give you a fair price, unbiased opinions, and expert craftsmanship no matter the situation. I am a string teacher and am proud to send my students here for rentals, but I also love the work and service they offer me as a string-playing professional. BEST rehairs in Georgia, no contest, and very reasonably priced! Love love love!

Beautiful, friendly, knowledgeable shop. They repaired my roommates violin strings, bow, and even recommended an amateur group for her to join and meet other players.

10000/10 the only string instrument shop I recommend. Huthmaker violins is a family owned business and they are truly the kindest people you will ever meet. They live and breathe music and are so passionate about what they do. Huthmaker Violins has incredible customer service and honestly will bend over backwards to help their customers. Shoutout to Anna, We absolutely love you!

They definitely are the experts! We went there to size my 6 yo for a violin and decided to rent from them. The guy who helped us was very professional, nice, patient, and taught us a lot. We'll for sure visit again when my younger child is ready to learn a string instrument.

I never write reviews but had to leave one for Huthmaker Violins. This is the second instrument that we purchased from them and will come back whenever my daughter is ready to move up. Everybody is SO AMAZING! They took their time to listen to my daughter (and son) with all their crazy music stories. They made us feel so comfortable with our decision. I really appreciate the time they spent with us going over all the details of our instrument and how to care for it. It is SO NICE to go into a shop and feel like you are the only customer.

The best place for all things strings! Everyone in the shop is very knowledgeable! The owners are former school orchestra teachers and performers. The thing I love most about Huthmaker's is that they truly care that every student gets what they need to be successful learning their instrument. Their rental instruments are noticeably above average in sound quality and playability. And they have a shop full of wonderful intermediate and artist instruments as well. All this and really nice folks too. You cant go wrong! :)

I was amazed at your hospitality and the way you kept on giving me different violins to play. Your shop is probably the best violin shop that I have ever visited. I’m grateful to you for giving me such wonderful opportunity to play with your fantastic violins.
